Established in 1981, Whitestone Farm began as a 122 acre farm with 49 head of commercial cattle. Since then, the farm has grown into a modern operation with 2,200 acres of leased and owned land and an active inventory of 1,200 head of superior registered Angus cattle.

Driven by their love for agriculture and their desire to get back to their roots, George Lemm and the Robertson family made their first Angus purchase in 1983 when they obtained 18 head of registered Angus females.

They ran the farm as a commercial operation for several years until they decided to transition from a commercial operation to a registered Angus seed stock operation. Their hope was not only to raise Angus, but also to produce superior genetics that breeders from around the world would seek to acquire.

As the program progressed, the owners decided to seek out a professional manager who understood all aspects of the Angus realm.

They interviewed and hired Mark Duffell, who had a love for the agriculture and livestock industry ever since he was a boy on his grandparent’s South Carolina farm. He was raised up through the ranks of the Jr. Angus program and was extensively involved in the Future Farmer’s of America program during his high school years. Mark was currently employed at Northcote Farms and was ready for a new challenge. In 1988, he came onboard as General Manager for Whitestone Farm.

It was then that Whitestone’s respected breeding program began. One of their first notable purchases was Mengs Miss Skymere 27S, a prominent donor who went on to generate in excess of more than $800,000 in progeny sales during her productive life at Whitestone.

Since the early to mid 1990’s, Whitestone Farm produced and exhibited numerous state and national champions from coast to coast. The farm has proudly hosted two sales annually since 1989: the Spring Pasture Performance Tested Bull and Female Sale in March and the Brand of Quality Fall Production Sale in October.

In addition to breeding superior Angus cattle, Whitestone Farm is committed to providing community support, protecting the environment and promoting agribusiness.
